What is a magnetic stripe card?

The magnetic strips found on various credit, banking, and other card variants employ a magnetic material strip to retain digital information. This strip contains a limited amount of data, encompassing the cardholder's name, account number, expiration date, and more.

The data on payment cards is divided into three tracks, commonly known as "magstripes", which are made up of magnetic stripes.
